Title: price embeded barcode settings

A Label Printing scale generates the barcode.

This document is to help you work out what register programming is required to read your barcodes.

Type 1  D1 D2 I1 I2 I3 I4 I5 S  P1 P2 P3 P4 C  (5 and 4)
Type 2  D1 D2 I1 I2 I3 I4 S  P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 C  (4 and 5)
Type 3  D1 D2 I1 I2 I3 I4 I5 I6 P1 P2 P3 P4 C  (6 and 4)
Type 4  D1 D2 I1 I2 I3 I4 I5 P1 P2 P3 P4 P5 C  (5 and 5)
Type 7  D1 D2 I1 I2 I3 I4 I5 W1 W2 W3 W4 W5 C  (5 and 5)

D1, D2      = Department Number (02,20~29)
I1 ~ I6     = Item Code
S             = Check sum digit for price
P1 ~ P5    = Price
W1 ~ W5  = Weight
C             = Check sum digit for all characters

Not sure which type to use in your cash register?

Using the scale, print 3 labels of the same item with different weights
1st label total price around $3-$5
2nd label total price around $10-$50
3rd label total price around $100-$999

The reason you do this is because seeing the price field is very important.
If the scale total is $999.99 but the label shows $99.99 you know the barcode format is set to 4 digit price ( type 1 or type 3 )
If it shows $999.99 the barcode format is set to 5 digit price ( type 2 or type 4 )

Also having 3 labels is a great test for programming. If after programming, 1 of the barcodes doesn’t work, one of your settings will be wrong.
If all 3 work you know all the settings are correct.
