G'day Shayne,

Can you do a scan of the button on the keyboard.
2 Possible key sequences   - Both on PGM mode on the ECR itself please:

1)  15 SBTL                      (Assuming it is a PLU)
     [button in question twice]
     CASH

If sequence 1 generates an error use sequence below

2)  15 SBTL                   (It may still be a function key)
      4 X/Time
     [button in question]
     CASH

Hi Lindsay,

back on this trail again.  Attached is a sample of the PLU settings we uploaded to the ECR.  To me everything looks good.
And yes the PLU has been allocated via the Keyboard Layout feature.

For those who have been playing along at home the attached image shows what I am referring to:

I also note that you are using PLU 63... this is not on the default keyboard...  Have you edited the Keyboard layout to allocate PLU63 to a button??

OK,

1)  Did you also look at the disabled setting on your PLUs???  PLUs can be disabled and pressing them in REG mode will give you a Sequence Error.  If these buttons had not been used previously they may have been Disabled to prevent accidental sale of unprogrammed PLUs.

2) When you say right hand side... What do you mean precisely?? are you referring to the function key area of the keyboard or simply the right hand section of the PLU section  of the keyboard...

The ER390 comes with 60 PLU keys in the factory default programme; if you need any more than that you have to assign them for yourself...  Have you allocated PLUs to the buttons in your Keyboard Layout edit screen??... AND downloaded it to the ECR via Down Program --> Misc menu selection??

Can you attach a keyboard layout (jpg or pdf) highlighting the problem area??

Many thanks Lindsay,

The programming was done using the PC programme & interface.  I have checked the PLU's and they are all identical in that they are set to a preset price.
Is there a prerequisite on the 390M before setting the keys up - all the ones on the right hand side work perfectly.

Shayne

Hi Shayne,

As you know the Sequence Error is the generic "You did something I wasn't expecting" error - and of course what the register expects changes when the programming is altered.

I would carefully examine the PLU Status programming on the PLUs generating the error,  looking particularly at "Preset", "Preset Override" and the "Disabled" settings closely.

On the ECR Keyboard, you can scan the PLU settings by using the following sequence:
Turn the mode lock to PGM mode (requires a key with "P" or "C" embossed on it)
Enter 15 SBTL
[First PLU with error]
[Last PLU with  error]
CASH

Is your customer just pressing the PLU button?  Maybe it is not Preset or it is disabled.
Is your customer entering a price before the item? Maybe Preset Override is not allowed.

I hope this helps.  Let me know how you go.

Programming of ERC390M
« Reply #1 on: August 17, 2015, 04:56:06 PM »
I have a football club who has been using a ECR390M for about 2 years.  Last week they decided to add Merchandise & Membership PLUs to the programming.  While all the keys on the left hand side work perfectly (for drinks, nibbles etc) the newly programmed keys on the right half dont.  An out of Sequence error comes up, even though the programming appears the same.
Any help appreciated
