Hi Lee,

Please check your cash register's serial port configuration:

Turn Key to Service mode
     needs key with letter 'C' embossed into it
     Service mode is down at 6 O'clock past P Mode

By Default, port 1 is setup for PC comms - but it may have been changed.

To Set port 1 to work with the computer - make sure the Key is in S Mode.
Type :
[
    8 0 Subtotal
    1 X/Time 0 Cash
    2 X/Time 0 Cash
    3 X/Time 0 Cash
    4 X/Time 0 Cash
    5 X/Time 1 Cash  Cash
 ]

Plug your cable into serial port 1 of the cash register and try again.
The key can be in any mode, but you must not have an active transaction running, or you will get a Register not Ready error again.

If your register does NOT go into online mode after doing the above steps, you may have a cable that is internally not wired correctly.

If your register goes into online mode, but you still get a register not ready after doing the above steps, you may have a broken wire inside your cable.
